ECO-3 Announces Internet Training for Construction Site Erosion & Sediment Control Supervisors to meet new Ecology’s new requirement

Phase 1 cities and counties in Washington State, are about to adopt the new DOE Stormwater Manual which will require every construction site larger then 1 acre to have a certified erosion and sediment control supervisor on-site or on-call 24 hours / day.

To meet the Department of Ecology’s new requirements, Phil Fortunato owner of ECO-3, an erosion and sediment control consulting and education company, developed a training program that contractors can now take at home over the Internet.

ECO-3 was the first company to submit it’s training course for DOE and King County for review.  Fortunato says,  “ With the new environmental regulations, it is in everyone’s best interest, both governmental agencies and private contractors, to gain the knowledge they need to protect the environment and complete their projects.”

“What started out as a small part of our education seminar program has now developed into the main focus and direction of the company.  The investment in video streaming technology for both the web server side of the training application and the presentation, side has been considerable in both time and money.”  Fortunato said.  The web server and streaming technology were aided by fledgling web streaming company Northwest Streaming.  The full web development required redundant high bandwidth T1 lines and over 200 gigabytes of server storage to handle the video streaming technology.

We are hoping that contractors will want to take advantage of the fact that employees do not have to lose a day of work to take the course.” Phil says.

Construction companies can get an introduction to the on-line course and review the Budgeting and scheduling section at no charge at www.eco-3.com.  Internet training for city and county inspectors will be ready shortly.

Kent, Washington based ECO-3, does erosion & sediment consulting on construction sites and works with cities and counties to develop erosion and sediment control procedures and train construction site inspectors.
